Second place finish

The 2020-21 season has been unique, with all meetings, events and competitions run completely online due to the lockdown restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. CPA Camera Club members rose to the occasion, as always, and I’m thrilled to report that we finished the NIPA Wex Interclub Competition in second place overall.

In the Principal Competition, CPA ranked first in the Mono section, second in the Colour section and fourth in the PDI section, giving us the overall second place with a total of 553.5 points.

Congratulations to everyone who had an image selected to represent the club this year. Our members had a total of 21 starred images across the rounds, more than double last year’s tally: well done to Robert Sergeant (9), Vittorio Silvestri (4), Michael Mulholland (2), Louise Borbely (1), Helen Honeyman (1), Stephen Emerson (1), Pauline McAleese (1), Brian Carey (1) and Colin Paul (1). No less than six perfect scores in that mix!

Our thanks to the five judges who gave their time to not only judge the images online but present their feedback via Zoom, and to our Competition Secretary, Vittorio, for co-ordinating the judging and feedback sessions.

CPA would also like to congratulate the winners, Ards Camera Club who won the Novice competition and Catchlight Camera Club who won the Principal competition – both results a repeat of last season. BPIC took second place in the Novice competition and CB Camera Club took third place in both competitions. Very well done to everyone involved.
