NIPA Novice Competition

Friday 5th April saw the 2019 NIPA Novice Competition held at The Fountain Centre in Bangor. Thank you to all our members who supported the competition and submitted entries, both in projected and print format. We’re delighted to report that, for the fourth year in a row, CPA members had winning images.

In the Mono Print section, Pauline McAleese won with Slice of Cake and also had a Highly Commended with We Will Remember Them and a Commended with Bicycle Race. Second place went to Geraldine Ennis for Chimpanzee, with Heron giving Colin Paul a Commended.

In the Colour Print section, CPA had two Commended images with Titanic Quarter by Night by Stephen McComb and Orangutan by Geraldine Ennis.

In the PDI section, Pauline McAleese took second place with Chocolat and a Highly Commended with Snack Time, whilst Min Jing had a Highly Commended with Food in Air, and Stephen McComb had a Commended with Prairie Dogs.

The overall top image on the night went to the winning PDI, Calendar Scooter by Paul McIlwaine from Larne Camera Club.

Pauline is the only CPA novice to make the move up to advanced worker this season, doing so in style with two stars in the Interclub Competition and her two stars in the Novice Competition. Congratulations, everyone.
