Lighting Masterclass


On 15th September we had our own Joe Carberry give us a lighting masterclass.

Joe and his model for the night, his grandson Joseph arrived early and I helped with his extensive set-up. Joe brought many different lights, modifiers and diffusers and set these up to deliver different forms of light.

Joe started with a PP presentation, explaining lighting techniques and showed how he successfully used these in the past, with examples of his own images.
He showed us a few images he had found on the website and said we were going to try and replicate the lighting setup after the tea break.

After a Q&A session we had tea and then we went straight into the shoot with his grandson Joseph.

Joe tethered his camera to the laptop, so the members were able to see the results on-screen.

Joe moved flawlessly from set-up to set-up, instructing Joseph on how he wanted him to pose.

Next week we get the chance to put this into practice with a couple of models, come along and get inspired.
