The Round 3 Adjudication for the WEX Interclub Competition was hosted by Larne Camera Club on Wednesday 25 January 2023. CPA members gained a total of seven stars to maintain the first place spot in the Principal Competition as well as move into first place in the Novice competition.
In the mono section, there were stars for Brian McClure with “Weary Clown” and Chelle McGaughey with “Architectural Lines”. Chelle’s colour image “Theodore” also starred, with the second star in the Colour section going to Maia McGaughey for “Matrix” – the youngest CPA member to gain a NIPA starred image since Maia was only 13 years old when the image was submitted. In the PDI section there were stars for Brian McClure with “What If”, Pauline McAleese with “Misty Sunrise at the Belvedere” and Min Jing with “Indian Lady” – a first star for Min as well. Brian’s two images both scored 14 points whilst all the other starred images scored 13.
It’s always exciting to see the starred images on the top board, but we can’t forget the images that were just one mark off and are equally responsible for our current top spot. Scoring 12 points we had Stephen McComb with “April”, Robert Sergeant with “Beach Racer” and “Egyptian Explorer”, and Ossie Bruce with “Gosford Deer”. So close!
