On Tuesday 15th November we had a talk on Dog Photography by Darren Brown from Bangor & North Down Camera Club. Darren is well-known for his landscape and portraiture work but is also in demand for the fabulous images he captures of dogs. He brought along his companions Cassie and Ria, two gorgeous Spanish Water Dogs who entertained us all. Darren talked about what makes a good dog portrait, the difference between an image that will appeal to an owner and one that will work for competition, and some techniques for getting our furry friends to cooperate! It was a very interesting evening which suffered from some unfortunate scheduling, the Northern Ireland football match being on at the same time which had an impact on traffic in the area and which obviously discouraged some members from venturing out. Our thanks to Darren for struggling through the traffic bedlam and sharing his experience with us.
