PAGB Inter-Club PDI Championship 2016

Every year each of the 15 federations which make up the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) nominate two clubs to take part in the PAGB Inter-Club PDI Championship. Due to our unprecedented third place finish in the NIPA Inter-Club competition this season, for the first time in the club’s long history we were invited to participate. Of course we leapt at the chance and a call went out to all members  to submit PDIs for consideration.

Each club submits a bank of 40 entries. In each round 8 images are judged and we nominate in advance the images to be used in Rounds 1 and 2. After the judging of these 2 rounds, the top 8 clubs go through to the next round of the competition and the rest of the competition images are selected from the bank during the event.

Thank you to everyone who provided images for selection. There were some wonderful images to choose from, around 250 in total, and it was not an easy job for the selection team to whittle these down to the required 40. The following images are those selected to represent CPA at the championships in Warwick on Saturday 16 July.

Update: CPA took part in three competition rounds. After rounds 1 and 2, the scores were calculated and the top 8 clubs went on to compete in the Final. The remaining clubs, which included both CPA and Catchlight Camera Club, took part in a further round for the Plate competition. Out of the bank of 40 images, 8 were entered in each round and therefore 24 in total were included. Our score for each round was 80, 79 and 83 respectively. Our congratulations to Wigan who were the overall winners and to Doncaster who won the Plate competition.
