On Tuesday 9th December, we had the third round of the NIPA Inter-Club Competition judged at the club, by Catchlight member, Ross McKelvey.
This was an open round. We had our usual great entry from many of our Advanced workers, while the Novice entry continues to be less well supported.
Ross gave some excellent constructive feedback on every image, spending a little more time on the Novice entry. He commented on print quality, tonal range on the Mono entry, subject content in an image, composition and overall mount suitability.
He also referred to the Mono images as being true B&W (Pint of Guinness) and how some appeared grey in comparison.
Many thanks Ross.
The entry consisted of:
Mono Prints – Novice 3 images, Advanced 24 images
Colour Prints – Novice 6 images, Advanced 22 images
PDI – Novice 4 images, Advanced 24 Images
Images due following the NIPA judging on 12th Jan.
