On Tuesday 25th October we had Round 2 of the Calumet Interclub Competition. Our judge for the evening was John Miskelly FBIPP, ARPS from Bangor & North Down Camera Club.
The entry consisted of 28 mono, 37 colour and 43 PDIs. Despite the size of the entry, John took the time to comment on every image and offer advice on how they could be improved.
Many thanks for your time and consideration, John, and it was lovely to welcome you back to CPA following your presentation as guest speaker last season.
John’s choice of placed images was as follows:
Mono
1) Paul Hanley – Man on a Mission
2) Chelle McGaughey – Girl in a Shawl
3) Steve Haydon – Been a Long Day
4) Paul Hanley – Reina Sophia Reflected
N) Steve Haydon – Been a Long Day
Colour
1) Robert Sergeant – Triathlete
2) Paul Hanley – Self-Portrait
3) Paul Hanley – Lady in the Red Coat
4) Helen Honeyman – Courting Ritual
N) Helen Honeyman – Courting Ritual
PDI
1) Louise Borbely – Porcelain
2) John A. Hill – Spiral at Hilton
3) John Winder – Redwoods
4) Paul Hanley – Turbines of Power
N) John Winder – Redwoods
In this round we also had our first entry in the PDI category by the club’s youngest member, seven year old Maia McGaughey. John was very complimentary and awarded the image Highly Commended status, which I’m sure will inspire Maia in the future.
