NIPA Rd 1 – Open

On Tuesday 25 September we had the first open round of the NIPA Interclub Competition for this season. Our judge for the evening was Nigel Snell from Bangor & North Down Camera Club.

Whilst the print entry consisted of our normal numbers, approximately 30 mono and 45 colour, we saw twice as many PDIs as usual, thanks in part to our new novice members. Well done to everyone who entered their first competition with us, we know it can be exciting and nerve-wracking in equal measures! Nigel commented on a number of prints and all the PDIs as he went through them, not an easy task with around 70 to show. Many thanks Nigel for your time and effort.

His choice of placed images was as follows:

Mono

1st) Steve Haydon – The Spinner
2nd) William Allen – Rosses Point Lighthouse
3rd) Pauline McAleese – Giant’s Causeway
4th) Vittorio Silvestri – Fanad
N) Pauline McAleese – Giant’s Causeway

Colour

1st) Jim Walker – Mending the Nets
2nd) William Allen – Sunset at Ballintoy
3rd) Louise Borbely – Eye at the Picasso Museum
4th) Pauline McAleese – Sunbathing on the Big Fish
N) Pauline McAleese – Sunbathing on the Big Fish
