On Tuesday 26th April we had the two special competitions for photographs taken on Practical Nights at the club and for those taken on Club Outings during the year.
There were 37 entries, both colour and mono, in the Club Outings competition which showcased images from day trips to Oxford Island, Peatlands Park, Mount Stewart, Loughgall Country Park and the Titanic Quarter, as well as the longer trips to County Clare in September 2015 and Iceland in February 2016.
The Moucka Shield was presented to John A. Hill for the winning shot taken on a Club Outing, a beautiful image of a blue tit taken at Oxford Island.
The Practical Nights during the year perhaps offered trickier subject matter which resulted in an entry of only 10 prints covering the practicals on still life, portraiture and lighting. John A. Hill once again proved successful, winning the Agnew Cup for an image on the theme of See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil, with Gino moving into three different positions during the long exposure in bulb mode. A clean sweep on the night so many congratulations to John A. and to everyone who had a placed image.
