Time is coming round for our second field trip for the NIPA Nature Group Field outing.
Please save the date as above. It is intended to go to Glenarm Castle and Estate. I was up there a short time ago and there were black Guilemots in the harbour so it would be great to spend an hour around the harbour photographing these and then move into the formal gardens to do a bit of flower and insect photography. In the afternoon I am hoping to arrange us access to the private back part of the estate where there are some wonderful things to photograph including a forested expanse of wild ramsons and bluebells. I intend we walk up along the river up behind the estate where there is an abundance of wild flowers and bird-life. This is all of course at the mercy of the weather.
Going is pretty level but a decent distance so come prepared.
Please note we will meet at 10am and please bring a packed lunch as the day will most likely go on past 3pm.
I will send an email closer to the time confirming details, meeting points etc but in the mean time I hope to see you all there.
