Following a summer of very mixed weather and many rained off outings, I am delighted to welcome you all back to the opening of the new CPA season starting on Tuesday 2nd September at 7:45pm. This will be our 109th year.
The committee has been hard at work organising an exciting programme (download here). Once again we will be sticking with the practical, hands on approach which worked so well last year. As well as the usual NIPA and club competitions we have, member interactive post processing nights, presentations on basic camera use and print & PDI preparation. We have changed the format of our practical nights (where you can learn the more intricate settings of your camera) to include themed sessions rather than just models, check out the programme.
We have lined up several top class external speakers, Nigel Fleming, Eileen McCausland, Paul Hanley, Mark Allen and Colin Ross. From our on club we have Ernie Patterson, Eugen Baban and Gavin Toman.
We’ve also arranged 5 top judges to judge the NIPA rounds.
I am looking forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 2nd for an informal evening of introductions, a look at the programme in more detail, a presentation on “Basic Camera Settings” and the usual tea and chat. I have spoken to several members who have indicated that they know of friends who are interested in photography. I would encourage you all to invite anyone you know to join us.
