On Tuesday 11th we had our tribute night to the greatest and well loved photographer from the CPA,
As expected we had a full house with over 50 members from the CPA and various clubs in NIPA.
We were also privileged to have Irene, Denise, Linda and Heather and some of the extended McCrum family with us.
The evening started with a few words from David Gooding, one of Will’s oldest friends from the CPA. David recalled experiences that he remembered over the many years they spend together at the club .
Vittorio followed with a little history on Will’s journey throught the world of photography during his 71 years while he was a members of the CPA. More information can be found at this link “Will McCrum Memorial Cup”
We then proceeded to look at a selection of Will’s prints, broken down into 5 categories, Architecture, Landscapes, Nudes, General Subjects and Portraiture. There were 60 in total, only a fraction of the prints that Will produced. Vittorio read details on each of the prints and then handed them around the audience so that they could get a feel, smell and a look at the amazing history on the back of the prints.
After a break for refreshments and some chat we showed the final category, Portraiture which was Will’s true passion.
To finish we announced a new competition which the CPA will organise in memory of Will. In brief this will be a portraiture, print only, competition open to any paid-up member of a club affiliated to NIPA. Full details can be found at “Will McCrum Memorial Cup”
Thanks to everyone for making this such a special night.
